Don Norman has been inspecting buildings since 1985 and has inspected over 10,000 buildings during his career - both commercial and residential. He has co-authored numerous books including Residential Roofing Inspection for the Professional Inspector, Appliance Inspection for the Professional Inspector and the ASHI Training Curriculum. Don was honored to be the first recipient ever to receive the St. Louis Association of Realtors 'Affiliate of The Year' award in 2000. He is a nationally recognized speaker and trainer in the home inspection industry and was the National President of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) in 2005.

Don helped create the Examination Board of Professional Home Inspectors (EBPHI) in 1998 and was a charter director from 1998 to 2000. Asked to serve on the board again in 2014 he currently serves as that board's president. The EBPHI created, maintains and administers the National Home Inspector Examination (NHIE), the only high stakes, psychometrically valid, legally defensible exam in the world. The NHIE is used by 34 states to test inspector competency for state licensing.
